Sint Nicolaasga (or Sint Nyk as we say in Friesland) is located between the Tjeukemeer and Langweerder Wielen lakes, in a beautiful woodland setting. The annual Sint Nykster Merke market attracts many visitors each year. This three-day annual market starts on the first Thursday of September. The event is opened with a symbolic procession, including floats, Frisian show bands and marching bands. The oldest Catholic cemetery of Friesland can also be found in Sint Nicolaasga.
