Sint Nicolaasga
After walking to junction 62, you slightly deviate from the junction network to stroll through the charming village of Sint Nicolaasga. Via the Fetsesingel, instead of turning left towards junction 41, turn right to circle around the Amazonevijver (Amazon Pond). This is a beautiful walking route right along the lake. Continue the route southward until you reach Kerklaan. Walk towards the village until you reach Bouwen street. From there, head back north towards walking junction 41.

You can choose not to take the extra detour to the village of Sint Nyk (as the Frisians say). In that case, proceed from junction 62 to 41 and continue the route.

If you want to explore the village and learn more about it, continue straight from Kerklaan into Baron van Hardenbroekstraat until you reach Kerkstraat. There, you'll find the beautiful Roman Catholic Sint Nicolaasgakerk. The church is a neo-Gothic cross basilica from 1887, designed by the Frisian architect Jan Doedes van der Weide, a pupil of the famous Cuypers.

Vegelinbossen
To return to Langweer, walk along the Vegelinbossen, a beautiful natural area dating back to 1722, created by order of the then-mayor Johan Vegelin van Claerbergen.
