Watersports in Sneek

You can hardly find a better place for water sports in the Netherlands than in Sneek, because Sneek is the water sports city! Known of course from the Sneekweek. This annual sailing competition event, organized on inland waters, is the largest in Europe. Nearby is also the Sneekermeer, or Snitser Mar. What is special is that this lake is not really located near Sneek, but near Oppenhuizen. Because of the short travel distances in Southwest Friesland and because everything is connected by water, you can get there quickly. And also go to the beach De Potten on the Sneekermeer for a lazy day of sunbathing and paddling. In winter, like real Frisians, we naturally hope for an Eleven Cities Tour. Then Sneek is the first city to be visited after Leeuwarden. As long as the water remains liquid, you can also do the Elfstedentocht by boat, bicycle or camper.
