Langweer
You start the route in the watersports village of Langweer, located on the Langwarder Wielen, which is part of the Frisian Lakes. Enjoy the charming alleys and the cozy center with old buildings in this village.

After leaving Langweer, you cross the water with a ferry. Keep in mind that the ferry operates from April to October. Check the departure times in advance here and bring exact change just in case.
Scharsterbrug
Via the canal of the Scharster-Rijn, you'll reach the 'dairy' village Scharsterbrug. You'll walk along a row of workers' houses built in the early 20th century when the factory of Dairy Concern N.V. Hollandia was established in the village. Later, Nestle took over.

In Scharsterbrug, a large dairy factory called the Maatschappij Hollandia was built at the end of the 19th century.
Vegelinbossen Forests
The Vegelinbossen forests were planted on the sand ridge on which the village of St Nicolaasga sits. Mayor Johan Vegilin van Claerbergen arranged for the forests to be planted in 1722. Today this is a beautiful place to go walking, cycling, horse riding.
Legemeer Bell Tower
The bell tower in the village of Legemeer stands in a graveyard surrounded by a canal. The bell tower we see today is a replica of the original bell tower built in 1720, which was destroyed by an autumn storm in 1972.
Langweer
Langweer is a true watersports destination. From this centrally located village in the Frisian lake area, you can sail in all directions.
