The Afsluitdijk Wadden Center is the place where you can experience the story of Dutch Delta Design, UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea, the Vismigration river and the renewed, future-proof Afsluitdijk and the IJsselmeer.
There is an interactive experience exhibition in the Afsluitdijk Wadden Center. The main theme is the (survival) of the Dutch in the Delta, over the centuries and with a view to the future of climate change and sea level rise. Do you want to experience the Wad with dry feet? Discover it in the exhibition.
With 2Discover you can go through the exhibition in 10 languages. The exhibition is arranged in such a way that you can request information fragments at various places. You imagine a path through storms from the past to the solutions of today. The current and future work on the dyke can be closely monitored here. You can also get inspiration for a visit in the region. For children there is a game table and drawing table, and a special quest for Bobby Fish.
As a visitor you can walk around the exhibition freely. A visit takes on average 45 minutes to an hour. Have you seen everything in the exhibition? Then you can also take a look at the roof to see the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea in full glory.
Aquavista
Experience the inspiring hinterland of the Afsluitdijk through a unique flying experience. Aquavista takes you on a unique 4D flight over the region. Hanging through the eyes of the Black-tailed Godwit, you pull into the hinterland of the Afsluitdijk. A flight to remember! After this unique flying experience you can get more information about the sights in the region in the exhibition. Or if you want to relax, come to SKOM: food & drink. Here you can enjoy a beautiful view over the IJsselmeer and a nice snack and drink.
