The distinctive bell tower in the village of Idzega has a red ironwood frame and a saddle roof. It was built in place of the church when the church was demolished. The bell was cast by the Van Bergen bell foundry in Heiligerlee in 1949.

The Jacobikerk church stands on the terp in the village of Wommels. The single-nave church built in the 13th century was restored after a fire in around 1508. In the three-tier tower built in 1862 there are two bells. One was cast by Geert van Wou in 1494

The church in Goïngarijp was built in 1770. The bell tower that stands next to it was built or restored at the same time. The bell is 126 cm in diameter and was cast by G. van Wou in 1527. The church has six stained glass windows made by Ype Staak.

Het dorp Wons speelde een belangrijke rol tijden de inval van het Duitse leger in 1940. Dit had te maken met haar legging tegenover de Afsluitdijk. De Wonsstelling was de laatste hindernis voordat de Duitse troepen de Afsluitdijk bereikten.

The Follega bell tower stands in a small round graveyard. It has a four-sided dome roof and houses a bell that is 78 cm in diameter, which was cast by P. van den Ghein in 1596.
