The Schiermonnikoog Festival is expanding its activities to the mainland and returns to Podium Piaam. With the new talent development programme Broedpleats Piaam, the festival, in collaboration with Nynke’s Pleats, creates space for promising young Dutch musicians to grow.

For 15 years, the Schiermonnikoog Festival has offered a springboard for young top talent in classical music. As the island has reached its limits, the festival is expanding its activities. With the new talent development programme Broedpleats Piaam, the festival creates space for promising Dutch musicians to develop and to meet a new audience.

After the successful first edition in September 2025, a group of emerging talents will once again work together intensively in Piaam in 2026. From 3 to 6 September 2026, they will develop not only their artistic qualities, but also their vision for the future of classical music, guided by Caspar Vos and Club Classique. Broedpleats Piaam also serves as a lead up to the autumn edition of the Schiermonnikoog Festival, as the talents from Piaam will also be invited to perform at the festival in October.

Broedpleats Piaam concludes with two special concerts on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, where the audience can experience the energy, creativity and musical expression of this young generation. Expect lively chamber music, surprising presentation forms and the craftsmanship of tomorrow.
