On Monday during Sneekweek, it is time again for the Sneekweek Rubber Boat Race. Participants paddle in rubber boats to win fun Sneekweek prizes and, of course, the honour of winning.
On Monday the city centre of Sneek will once again be all about the famous Rubber Boat Race. Thousands of visitors gather along the canals to watch the colourful parade of rubber boats, air mattresses and the most creative inflatable creations.
The historic canals, the bridges full of spectators and the friendly atmosphere have made the Rubber Boat Race one of the highlights of Sneekweek for many years.
Not sure what will keep you afloat? Sign up for a chance to win one of the 10 iconic pink EasyToys rubber boats. The winners will receive their own pink rubber boat before the race on 3 August.
This year, the fun starts before the race begins. From 1:00 pm, there will be music, entertainment and all the teams getting ready in Marktstraat. At 2:00 pm, everyone joins a group warm-up. After that, a colourful parade of participants, rubber boats and inflatable creations walks through the city centre to the Waterpoort. There, the boats go into the water and the race starts at 3:00 pm.
Along the route, participants compete for the fastest time and take on a spectacular EasyToys obstacle. There are also funny costumes, surprising moments and lots of water fun. Thousands of spectators along the route create an amazing atmosphere.
After the finish, everyone returns to Marktstraat for the prize ceremony and the EasyToys It's Playtime Bingo with Bennie Solo.
The Sneekweek Rubber Boat Race always attracts a large crowd. Arrive early to find a good place along the route and enjoy all the action. The area is easy to access for people with reduced mobility, and emergency routes remain clear at all times.
