Joure
When you mention Joure, you're talking about coffee! At the birthplace of Douwe Egberts, be sure to visit the Joure Museum. Nannewiid
You'll cycle along the Nannewiid (Het Nannewijd), part of the Frisian Lakes. Lytse Wiid is next to the lake. Both lakes were formed by peat extraction. The lakes are connected by the Feanskieding (peat canal), a waterway that was used in the past for transporting peat. On the northeast side of Lytse Wiid, there's a viewpoint. Take a short break from your bike here for a beautiful view of the lake and the flora and fauna.
Heerenveen
After Nannewiid, you'll arrive in Heerenveen (it Hearrenfean): the largest village in Friesland (no, it's not a city). This sports village is known for Thialf ice stadium and the Abe Lenstra stadium and has a lively center.
Storyline Space
The Nannewiid is part of the Space Storyline. Through twelve special places in the Waterland of Friesland, you go on a 'space journey.' Here's a Frisian poem about the Nannewiid.
