The international art project Elephant Parade is coming to Sloten and Gaasterland to celebrate 600 years of city rights for the historic town of Sloten. A unique route takes you past no fewer than 32 extraordinary elephants and one rather unusual guest.

A colourful herd of 32 artistically painted elephants and one surprising odd duck makes its way through beautiful Sloten and the enchanting landscape of Gaasterland. The approximately 45 kilometre route passes some of the finest places Southwest Friesland has to offer.

In Sloten, you can discover as many as 11 elephants on foot. The route past 22 artworks through Gaasterland is ideal for exploring by bicycle or car. Part of the parade can even be discovered from the water.
