Programme Balk
In Balk, the festival will be officially opened by our mayor at 13:00. Afterwards, there will be dance and music performances in all kinds of genres, from choirs and brass bands to pop, classical music, musical theatre and rock and roll. There will also be workshops, and along the Luts you will find stalls from various cultural organisations and creative makers. Podium Gorter will celebrate its anniversary with live music and a record market. It is also Open Monument Day and Tsjerkepaad.
This means you can also visit several monuments.

On 12 September, we celebrate culture in De Fryske Marren during the UITfestival Waterland van Friesland. The cultural season 2026/2027 will be officially opened in Balk and Lemmer with an afternoon where cultural organisations from the wider area present themselves.
