B&B Gaasterland-Hoeve is located in the charming village of Wijckel, between Balk and Sloten. It is surrounded by several towns such as Oudemirdum, Rijs, and Harich. The area is called Gaasterland, known for its rolling landscape, centuries-old forests, lakes, and rivers. B&B Gaasterland-Hoeve is located directly on the 11-steden route (Eleven Cities Route) and is the ideal base for an overnight stay while walking, running, and/or cycling these beautiful routes. This is Gaasterland-Hoeve This beautiful building, well-known in Friesland and dating back to 1956, has always been a semi-detached farmhouse and served as a cow insemination station until 1968. In the past, the cows and bulls grazed in the front garden and were milked in the stables. The stables were located at the back, and the laboratory was located upstairs. The former original entrance to the AI Station Gaasterland-Hoeve serves as the entrance to the B&B. This front door, visible from the road, used to be the entrance to the AI Station. Now, on the first floor, Bed & Breakfast Gaasterland-Hoeve offers two beautiful rooms with a communal area.
