In Joure, along the old road to Sneek and at the exit of the A6 Joure-West, you can find the largest elm garden (elm arboretum) of Europe.
The garden has forty different species of elms: native and exotic. The trees were planted in 2013, partly to investigate which species thrive in the Frisian landscape. The garden is open to the public, so you can always have a look!
