The Markestee is a residential accommodation on the border between Friesland and Overijssel and is located near the nature reserve Weerribben and De Rottige Meente. The village of Oldemarkt (in Overijssel) is located 1.5 kilometers away, here you will find a supermarket, bakery, butcher, drugstore and clothing. Lemmer can be reached by car in half an hour and the Eleven Cities towns of Sloten and Sneek can both be reached within 45 minutes. The Weerribben National Park can also be reached within 15 minutes. At 20 minutes you will find 'The Colonies of Benevolence' declared a Unesco World Heritage Site and Pantropica (formerly the orchid farm), both highly recommended to visit. From our location you can reach three provinces within 25 kilometers, enough choice to entertain you regardless of the weather!
