The layout is practical and comfortable. Inside, you will find a bright living room with an open kitchen and dining area. The chalet has one double bedroom and a bedroom with two bunk beds. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, toilet, and sink. Outside, there is a spacious garden by the water with multiple terraces, a large dining table, and a lounge set.
What makes this accommodation special
This chalet is situated on the water on two sides and features a private jetty and rowboat. You have free use of 2 bicycles and a garden shed with a washing machine and dryer. Everything you need is close at hand on the park, such as a supermarket, restaurants, playgrounds, and surf schools. The beach is within walking distance.

Please note: Use of the chalet is exclusively for recreational stays. Reservations are possible for persons aged 25 and over. Youth groups, sports teams, and student associations are not permitted.
Camping fees: These are collected by us and paid to Camping De Holle Poarte. This covers the tourist tax and the use of all public facilities such as water, waste disposal, beach cleaning, and the entertainment program. Below you will find the rates for 2026 (from age 3).

Chalet Gestrand V6 is situated at holiday park De Holle Poarte on the outskirts of Makkum. Here, you stay by the water with unobstructed views and several spots to sit outside. It feels peaceful and open, while everything is close by. Within a few minutes' walk, you can have your feet in the sand by the IJsselmeer. The harbor and the boulevard are also nearby, as are the shops and restaurants on the park. It is a lovely place for families due to the space, the playgrounds, and the many amenities around you. The surroundings invite you to get out and explore. You can easily walk towards the village for a stroll past the lock and the old center, or hop on your bike for a ride through the Frisian countryside. Water, the beach, and nature are all within easy reach here.

We are Koen and Esmeralda. Our visits with our two boys, Sven and Ivan, to the beach and the immediate surroundings of Makkum made us dream more and more often of a place of our own. In the spring of 2017, this dream became a reality when the opportunity arose to buy a chalet at recreation center De Holle Poarte, near the beautiful and sunny Makkum beach. With the IJsselmeer and the beach within walking distance, the fishing village of Makkum in the immediate vicinity, and a nod to the chalet and the beach, we named our chalet Gestrand!

Tips from the owner
Stay in a luxury holiday chalet at a five-star holiday park with a view of the water. You have access to stable private internet and can park for free in front of the chalet. The IJsselmeer beach is 300 meters away, and a nature reserve is located approximately 500 meters away. During your stay, you can make free use of a women's and a men's bicycle. There is also a private fishing jetty with a rowboat and a swimming pool on the premises. Linen rental is available through the owner.
