The Jopie Huisman Museum is dedicated to the life and work of the Frisian self-taught master painter Jopie Huisman. His love of nature and his compassion are a recurrent theme. In his multifaceted work, Jopie gives value to the insignificant and restores everything to human proportions. During your visit, Jopie himself will guide you through his world and shares his passion with you.
From the beginning, Jopie Huisman’s predominantly realistic work has attracted a broad and extensive public with whom the philosophic power of his art resonates. Love of nature, compassion and an eye for the insignificant are key. A visit to the Jopie Huisman Museum is more than worthwhile. The museum has welcomed over two million visitors since its foundation in 1986.
