Walking is a very popular activity in Friesland. This is, of course, inevitable with such a wonderful landscape. When you are outside, you can best experience the national landscape Zuidwest Fryslân and the Frisian Lakes best. There are kilometres of walking trails through the vast landscape; along lakes, on forest paths, and on slopes. With the trail network you can easily outline your own beautiful route. Connect the numbers on the map or walk along marked forest paths in the woods of Gaasterland. At the tourist office, you will find special theme routes about the countryside, nature, and history.
