Kuiertocht Stavoren

(3.4 km)

Stavoren was the first Dutch town to receive city rights. In the eleventh century, it was an important trading post on the Zuiderzee. It was situated at a junction of shipping routes to the Baltic Sea, North Sea, and the Rhine. For this reason, it is definitely worth strolling through the charming center after the walk.

After the walk, head north towards Voorstraat to visit the Vrouwtje, the harbor, and the fountain.

A "kuiertocht" is a short walking route. So, it probably won't surprise you that in Frisian, "wandelen" translates to "kuierje". You can easily combine a leisurely stroll with an activity in the area, or choose to embark on another leisurely stroll. An overview of all leisurely strolls can be found here.
